Spirit and I have this fun communication process.
I lose things.
And, while I am looking, I say "I can't find the scissors," (or whatever object I am seeking) and I immediately downloaded an image that shows me where the scissors are. I see the drawer or table or box where I left them. I go there. I follow the trail, and voila, there they are!
Then there are days, when I am hell-bent on finding the FREAKING scissors. NOW!
If I don't find them RIGHT NOW, that's it! It's over! It will mean that I am THE WORST mother ever. I will NEVER get there. My life, and all my creature comforts, will spontaneously EXPLODE and I'll be left destitute. And toothless. My plans are RUINED. And my chances of EVER being happy again are OVER.
Yea, on these days, Spirit isn't so receptive to me.
Or is it?
The way I experience it in my more sane moments, Spirit is always with me, willing to assist and guide as much or as little as I choose to ask and listen. The thing is, there is no way Spirit can be of service when I am stiff with KNOWING how this is going to turn out, rigid with fear and doubt, or projecting all of my insecurities onto the outcome of this dilemma. Have you ever tried to force a twenty dollar bill into a tightly closed fist? Yea, that is not happening!
Spirit is graceful, patient, supportive, and open to our discovering the connection in a personal way. On a personal timeline. With ease, trust, and from a place of confident listening, Spirit makes itself known in order to serve. Only to serve.
So many things in life are like the scissors:
I'd like to attract (fill in the blank) into my life. And then I speak of it as if it will NEVER come to my life.
I'd love to work as a (fill in the blank). And then I don't apply for the position that fits the description.
I dream of living in a house that (fill in the blank). And then I just never search the listings.
When I am open for assistance, for guidance, even for a miracle, I must approach with a balance of reason (understanding what it is I seek) and faith (allowing for input and support beyond what is visible or practical). I have to show up, to participate in the direction of my interest, and also be willing to be guided by the forces that arrive to join me. Often, the willingness shows up in the form of space, breathing, gratitude, or trust. A gap of energy that allows an answer or direction to drop in.
So, the next time you can't find the scissors, ask. And then be still and allow the location to make itself known.
We are all in this together and we have some powerful helpers on our side.
I'd love to hear you input on this - add a comment or send me a note. If you're not already following Enchanted Eye on Facebook or Instagram, check it out for daily input and guidance. (Yes, we can be spirit guides for each other too!)
